At Vaughan Children’s Dentistry we do everything we can to create a positive experience for you and your child. Our mission is to promote oral health, prevent dental disease, and treat infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special needs. Dr. Sean Ostro is a board-certified specialist in pediatric dentistry. He is friendly, professional, and family oriented. We strongly believe that you, the parent, have an important role in your children's oral health. We welcome your presence in the room during your child's treatment. At Vaughan Children's Dentistry, if you are not comfortable, neither are we. We offer fully comprehensive pediatric dentistry services and dental care for your baby including: • Regular checkups and preventive care • Dental cleanings, fluoride treatment, and sealants •Sedation options for children, nitrous oxide, sleep dentistry and anesthesia •Digital X-rays • Tooth-coloured filings and crowns for primary teeth •Mouthguards and sports dentistry • Early orthodontic treatment and space maintainers • Emergency dental care • Treatment of thumb-sucking and finger sucking habits We recommend that children have a first dental visit between ages one and two. Many parents are concerned about how their child will behave at these early visits and delay the appointments. It is our experience that if parents wait too long (until ages 3 or 4), there may already be cavities. We would prefer to establish good oral health preventive practices at younger ages and to keep your children cavity-free. Rest assured, we have experience with children of all personalities and dispositions. Often, children will surprise their parents with very positive behaviour at our practice.
