About

Dr Nixon is a very experienced restorative dentist who is passionate about providing superior care for adults with a very professional and personable chair side manner. His mission as a dentist is “to help people to be as healthy as they want to be”. He has advanced skills in restorative and aesthetic/ regenerative dentistry including composite resins, veneers, crowns, bridges and implants-all planned and done with a comprehensive/whole mouth approach that is dependent on a co-discovery examination and treatment planning model of care. Helping the patient to clarify their objectives to create a vision for their dental health and the desired appearance of their smile is the cornerstone of his providing dental care to patients. Dr Nixon understands that many people are highly visual and so he uses clinical photography and latest technology optical scanning extensively to help patients to better understand their dental health and aesthetic conditions/problems and to develop WITH the patient “the decisions/treatment options that feel right for them”. The patient is always the one who ultimately decides on their preferred treatment options. Dr Nixon is a life -long learner and a dental educator as well, and has been teaching dentistry at the university level and in study clubs for more than 35 years. He teaches restorative dentistry to final year students at the University of Toronto. Eight years ago he founded and continues to co-lead Toronto’s first SPEAR Education study club meeting regularly to discuss advances in modern dentistry. He is very health oriented with active interests in yoga, cycling, cooking, running, meditation, and his faith. He has been married for 25 years to Susan, who is a school principal and they are blessed with a daughter Avondale who is studying product design in New York City.

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

I have a genuine desire to help people have good oral health -- I also understand that many people are highly visual and so I use clinical photography and the latest technology/optical scanning extensively to help patients to better understand their dental health and aesthetic conditions/problems and to develop WITH the patient “the decisions/treatment options that feel right for them”. The patient is always the one who ultimately decides on their preferred treatment options.

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

I am skilled in many areas of dentistry, however I really enjoy focusing on basic and major restorative, aesthetic/ regenerative dentistry. Crowns, Bridges, Implant Crowns, Veneers, Cosmetic Dentistry, Etc.

What are you proud of in your practice?

.."The many people that I have met and helped to create beautiful smiles and healthy mouths.."
