Dr. Peter Gioulos

Dr. Peter Gioulos received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Ontario and then went on to the University of Toronto for general Dentistry. An externship in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery at Baylor University in Texas soon followed, as did a one-year hospital dental residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto and additional training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery as well as specialty training in Anesthesia at the University of Toronto. He is an active member of the Canadian Dental Association, the Ontario Dental Association, ITI and the Asclepius Dental Society. He is also a regular lecturer on dental implant treatments. Peter spends as much time outside of work as he can with his lovely wife and three kids – you’ll find them skiing in Ontario Cottage Country or, as often as they can manage it, skiing in the Rockies.

I have been a specialist in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery for 10 years and practice the full scope of my specialty. We offer conscious sedation for patients undergoing wisdom teeth extractions to help alleviate anxiety and to provide a more comfortable all-around experience. I am also always available for patients to contact me with any questions or concerns after treatment.

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

My top three treatments are wisdom teeth and dental extractions, reconstruction and grafting, and dental implant placement. I have extensive experience and training in full arch dental implant placement including “All-on-4” treatment as well as the placement of specialized “zygomatic” and “pterygoid” implants.

What are you proud of in your practice?

For many people, having their wisdom teeth extracted is not thought of as pleasant experience for many different reasons: fear of pain, unexpected complications, cost, etc. During my dental career, I have been able to change this view and experience for many of my patients. One of the things I am most proud of, is seeing the transformation of negative feelings, distrust and fear, into a positive interaction. Easing those fears, gaining a patient's trust, making them feel relaxed and comfortable, and hearing them say "that wasn't bad at all!", is truly rewarding. Many of my patients have conveyed their pleasant experience with positive online reviews, or by referring their family members and friends to our clinic.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

I enjoy performing wisdom teeth extractions and treatment planning complex dental cases. I enjoy working with my patients to find a solution that fits their individual needs and goals.
