Dr. Aliza Z Datu

Dr. Aliza Datu was raised in Vancouver, BC. She earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Sheffield in the U.K. Following her graduation in 2015, she continued to obtain a Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Dental Care while undergoing Dental Foundation Training in Peterborough, U.K. This is where Dr. Datu was able to gain valuable experience working under the National Health Service (NHS) and treating patients of all ages and from various backgrounds. While living in the U.K. Dr. Datu was able to volunteer her time and provide emergency dental care in rural areas, such as, Tanzania and Argentina. Since returning home to Canada, Dr. Datu worked hard to successfully complete the NDEB Equivalency process and obtain her dental license in Ontario. She enjoys helping patients in their journey towards better oral health and making sure information is communicated well. In her spare time, she enjoys playing sports, hiking and playing with any dogs she can find!

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

Patients should choose me because of my calm demeanour and ability to communicate different aspects of dentistry well. My goal is to make sure every patient is able to leave knowing exactly what is going on in their mouth and how to enhance their oral health and well-being! I am also continually updating my dental knowledge to give my patients the best treatment and advice.

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

I focus on restorative treatment, such as, fillings (I enjoy working with composite!) and crowns, extractions and emergency treatments.

What are you proud of in your practice?

In my practice I am most proud of being able to treat many dentally phobic patients and positively change their mindset on Dentistry. I am proud of the high standard of care I provide for my patients, building long lasting relationships and making sure my patients feel comfortable in the dental chair! In the future, I also hope to carry out more volunteer work in areas that are deprived of dental treatment.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

I enjoy the variety that general dentistry brings and no day is ever the same! Making sure my patient is dentally healthy and stable is what I strive for and enjoy.
