Dr. Daniel J. Lyu

After immigrating to the US at the age of 3, and growing up in New York City, Doctor Daniel J. Lyu earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry in 2007 and completed General Practice Residency at Lincoln Medical Center in the Bronx in 2008. Dr. Lyu has been in private practice ever since, focusing on comprehensive care for his patients. After selling his office in Westchester, NY and wanting to be closer to family, Dr. Lyu moved to the Phoenix area Fall 2020, and has been at this Tempe office since March 2021. Pursuing to keep up with the latest developments in dentistry, Dr. Lyu attended multiple continuing education courses given at the Spear Institute and ZimmerBiomet, focusing on implantology and esthetics dental restorations. Dr. Lyu completed 300 hours of education in the AAID maxi course at UNLV, and is pursuing certification in implantology. He has also earned the distinction of Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry in the Fall of 2022. Dr. Lyu is an active member of the American Dental Association, Arizona Dental Association, American Association of Implant Dentistry, and American Society of Forensic Odontology. Outside of the office, Dr Lyu enjoys golf, fishing, and spending time outdoors with his wife, Jennifer and their two children, Alexander and Olivia, and dog Pepper.

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

After graduation from NYU, I've taken many continuing education courses to better my skillset and knowledge. I practice with empathy, always concerned for my patients well being, and striving to make it as comfortable as possible. Patients are so relaxed after the injection, I've had some fall asleep during treatment.

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

I am skilled in all areas of general dentistry, but focus on Implantology, Invisalign, and Cosmetics. I want to provide the highest and best that dentistry has to offer to my patients, which is why I tend to follow the latest technology and advances in dentistry.

What are you proud of in your practice?

I am proud of prioritizing patient education to provide excellent dental care. When patients are well informed about their oral health, treatment options and preventive measures, they can make informed decisions and actively participate in their dental care journey.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

Seeing the joy and confidence on a patient's face when they see their new smile after a cosmetic case is truly rewarding. It's a wonderful feeling to know that you've made a positive impact on someone's life and help boost their self esteem. The transformation can be remarkable, and it is a privilege to be part of that process.
