Very positive experience. Parking is easy (and free if you park on Portola Drive), and the office was clean and not crowded. Dr. Mathai was friendly and a clear communicator. My cleaning was comfortable. I left with that wonderful super-clean mouth feeling that I love after a good cleaning. West Portal Dental Care will now be my regular dental provider.

Dr. Mathai was was very punctual, precise and detailed. Dr Mathai made sure I felt comfortable and understood all the procedures. The team at the office was super friendly and guided me through each step. I would highly recommend West Portal.

Everyone in the office is friendly and helpful. I haven't been to the dentist in years and Dr. Mathai made me feel at ease about it. We set up a plan for a cleaning and it was all pretty easy.

Kind, efficient and helpful

I went in for an exam and she was very helpful in taking Xrays and explaining everything about my teeth. She also had my past xrays pulled up that my old dentist sent. I had an old filling that chipped and got stuck in between my teeth that was causing pain. She was able to numb me right then and there to fix that problem, rather than scheduling an appointment months out. They showed me how much it would cost before they did it which I was very thankful for.

She was very friendly. She didn't work on my teeth because it was just a cleaning, but I think she will if I have more serious dental work.

Dr. Mathai and her staff took care of me. Their practice took the steps needed to make me feel comfortable and safe during these COVID times. I appreciate Dr. Mathai's expertise and friendliness. I talk to her about my concern and felt she was genuine and caring about her responses. 10/10 would recommend.

Patient, kind, and thorough.

Dr. Mathai was very receptive to my questions and provided satisfactory answers as to why my gums were sensitive. She also went over my X-rays with me and pointed out spots that she would monitor. Overall I felt very cared for.

First appointment after leaving my old dentist which I did not care for and was very impressed. Clean modern office and a very thorough visit.

Before my visit, the front desk was immensely helpful with an insurance snafu and scheduling help. At my visit, a hygienist took my x-rays, then Dr. Mathai did an exam, transparently walking me through everything, assuring me when everything looked great and when there was something to keep an eye on (old fillings). Then the hygienist gave me a cleaning and I was on my way! The office is comfortable and well-lit and the trees out the window are beautiful. I usually hate the dentist, but this was lovely.

Dr. Mathai was extremely professional and explained every step of the examination in detail. The dental assistant was pleasant and professional. The hygienist was very thorough and gentle. The office staff were very nice.

I had my first experience at this office today and it was fantastic from start to finish. Scheduling my appointment was super easy as we were able to coordinate over text. The front desk staff were very friendly and had me do the forms ahead of time online to save us both time once I got there. The office itself is really nice, clean with modern equipment. The hygienists were professional and made my teeth squeaky clean. Dr. Mathai herself was incredible! She took so much time to walk me through my xrays and educate me about my dental health. She was not pushy about products or services like other dentists I've been too, but just wanted to help keep my teeth healthy for the long run. I really appreciated her honesty and thoroughness. I am so happy to have found this office and will definitely be a long term customer!

Dr. Mithai and her team were great! I’m terrified of the dentist and therefore don’t go regularly and she was very understanding about that. She kindly explained my treatment plan to me and made sure to check if I was comfortable.

This dental office is truly exceptional. My new patient paperwork was electronic, so I got to use the office iPad to fill everything out. My appointment started on time, and I was in and out in under an hour! Pretty amazing considering I had full X-rays taken, an exam with Dr. Mathai, and a cleaning with my new hygenist. Plus, they even have evening appointment availability, so I didn’t even have to miss work. 10/10 will be back again!

Dr. Mathai was wonderful! She took her time to do a thorough check up and then talk through all the details with me. She was very kind, knowledgeable and overall seemed like a wonderful person and dentist. I hadn’t been to the dentist in about two years but Dr. Mathai did not make me feel bad about it but helped make a plan to get back on track. Overall great experience.
