Dr. Martin Chee

I needed a new dentist in SF and chose Matin Chee based on the quality of their reviews and being accepted by my insurance. Everyone in the office was great! I got a cleaning done and will definitely be coming back.

Dr. Chee has a great sense of humor, and is very attentive to the patients needs.

Dr. Chee performed the most thorough dental exam I've ever had! I've been in and out of the dentist plenty in the past few years so I've seen a variety of practices but I felt very at home at his practice. He has a TV that you can watch while getting your exam which is awesome. He was incredibly clear in his explanations of my options and clearly stated prices and expectations of procedures. I can't wait to go back!

Dr Chee was pleasant, had a deft touch and was overall wonderful to deal with.

I had a wonderful experience. Dr. Chee was attentive and careful, made sure to explain in detail what my situation was, what he was doing, what needed to be done, as well as what he could not do. I am very anxious about going to the dentist and Dr. Chee made that much easier. I also appreciate the proximity of his office to my home, which meant I could walk home right after.

He seems to be a good dentist very thorough and engaged. Showed me potential issues, very honest and clear.

I would go to Dr. Chee forever. He did my exam and cleaning himself and was super gentle throughout. I have sensitive teeth and usually hate cleanings, but I could barely feel a thing. He also took an x-ray and walked through every tooth with me to point out weak spots and areas to pay attention.

He was very communicative and didn’t want to do any unnecessary procedure to over charge me.

I had a great experience at Dr. Chee's office for both a cleaning and a cosmetic filling. Everyone in the office was very nice, I was seen quickly, and Dr. Chee did an excellent job with the filling. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Super Informative and Calming as he went through all my issues!

The good: Dr Chee sees all patients personally I think and does a thorough check up, even taking photos of your cavities. He also explains things so you understand and does the cleaning himself. Reception was friendly and excellent, knew her stuff. Cleaning outcome was fine, process could be improved. The bad: Equipment feels old, the water spout on the dental chair doesn't work properly (apparently building pipes) and the computer/x-ray process was extremely slow (apparently wifi problems). The control of the liquid sucking pipe that keeps your mouth dry by the assistant was not great, leading to sprays and water trickling out of mouth. :( This was worse during polishing when the assistant had to control both the polishing and water drainage herself. Place is a little cluttered and messy which doesn't inspire utmost confidence but not a total deal breaker.

Dr. Chee was incredibly gentle and kind. I let him know about past negative experiences I had with hygienists who would make me feel ashamed if I had tartar build-up or especially if I had a cavity. He seemed to really take this into consideration and I left his office with clean teeth and feeling positive. I would definitely recommend Dr. Chee, especially if someone else has had the same sense of shame or embarrassment with past dentists.

Martin Chee is the first dentist I have been to in this city that seemed to actually care about me and wasn't just trying to exploit my dental plan. He was super thorough in his cleaning and explanations of what was going on with my teeth. If you have had a bad experience with dentists before I recommend you to come see Dr Chee.

Very caring, great explanation. Dr Chee does the cleaning himself. Old school place as in paperwork, older office, tight quarters. Practice-wise, I'd highly recommend (5 stars). Environment-wise, it's very average, probably below average (3 stars).

Martin is very friendly and explains in great detail what and why he is doing the procedures to give additional context. The only negative would be the technology is a little slow which means things take longer but the team were super great!

Dr. Martin Chee was very flexiblr with my schedule i requested an appointment the same day i sent an inquiry and they were able to schedule me in for an early slot. Dr. Chee was very friendly and informative!

Dr. Chee was extremely personable. He started off my initial visit by asking me what I was looking for in a dentist and the type of care. This was a first in my experience. I valued his willingness to make his patients feel heard and cared for. This is a review after my first visit but I'm looking forward to going back.

Dr. Chee is great, I highly recommend him! I went for a check-up, cleaning, and extraction. I was recommended to him by Opencare. Dr. Chee did the job so perfect and without any complication. Outstanding and very affordable dental work. Also, everyone in his office was very accommodating and kind. He made me feel so comfortable during the surgery and even called me at home a few hours after to check on me. Out of all the dentists that I've visited in the Bay Area, he's by far the best!

Dr. Chee’s office was easy to make an appointment with and also has a convenient location next to SF’s Union Square. Dr. Chee was friendly from the beginning and thoroughly explained his techniques and recommendations - something I’ve found that few other dentists do. Overall, I would recommend Dr. Chee as a dentist.

Great staff, great dentist. Very gentle on the cleaning, and really knows his stuff. Really tries to get to know his patients and is very personable.
