Dr. Alex Shalman

My name is Dr. Alex Shalman, but everyone at the office calls me Dr. Alex. I am a general and cosmetic dentist in the West Village of NYC. My family has been practicing dentistry for nearly 110 years, starting with my great-great-grandmother, who graduated dental school in 1917 to become one of the first female dentists in Moscow, Russia. I am the first male dentist in my family. I am passionate about aesthetic, reconstructive, and cosmetic dentistry, specializing in designing beautiful, healthy smiles using innovative technology. My desire for knowledge and commitment to continuous improvement have led me to learn from some of the most prominent dental professionals in the world. I have previously taught at my alma mater, NYU, and held various board positions in professional societies. Currently, I focus on creating a welcoming environment for our patients and team, traveling to learn the latest in dentistry, and raising our young family.

We prioritize preventive care to ensure you avoid new cavities or infections. Our focus also includes saving teeth, but when extraction is necessary, we beautifully replace them with dental implants. Additionally, we are renowned for performing world-class transformative smile makeovers and full-mouth rehabilitations, utilizing the latest techniques, materials, and creative vision.

Since starting the practice in 2017, Dr. Alex has created a fun and relaxing environment on a cozy West Village block. He continually invests in the latest technology and upgrades his knowledge and materials to stay on the cutting edge of dentistry. The key is to always enjoy the task at hand. Our goal is to keep our patients happy, healthy, and beautiful. We have excellent systems for preventive dentistry, thanks to our wonderful hygienist and the advanced tools, techniques, and protocols we use to treat and prevent cavities and gum disease.
