Dr. Olufunmilola (Funmi) Akinyemi

Dr. Olufunmilola (Funmi) Akinyemi is a highly skilled and experienced general dentist with a passion for community health. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine with honors in community dentistry, and she also holds a Master’s degree in Nutrition from the University of Kentucky. She has over 5 years of experience providing oral health services in different communities in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. She has worked at various dental practices honing her skills in various aspects of general dentistry, from bread and butter to more advanced procedures such as endodontics and implants. She is committed to continued learning, as dentistry is a constantly evolving field. She regularly volunteers within the Charlotte community with organizations such as the Amen Free Clinic and Charlotte Mini-MOM Clinic, which offer free professional healthcare to the uninsured and underserved in the community. She is a native speaker of English and Yoruba, and is an avid student of Spanish. She is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and the North Carolina Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Funmi is committed to providing optimal dental health in a professional, caring, and compassionate environment. She believes that the practice of dentistry relies on establishing a good rapport with patients as she guides them through the clinical experiences that lead to their desired outcome. Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two rumbunctious boys. She also loves to travel, try out new recipes and walking in the park.
