About
Dr. David Axelrod grew up in New Jersey and graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a B.S. in Biology. He continued to the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery where he earned his DDS. After dental school, Dr. Axelrod served as a dental officer in the United States Army Dental Corps for five years. Dr. Axelrod began his Army service at Fort Benning, Georgia, with a Residency in Advanced General Dentistry. From there he went to serve as the Brigade Dental Surgeon in the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas and deployed to South Korea. He finished his service at Fort Meade, Maryland and was honorably discharged from the US Army. Dr. Axelrod received many awards for his service including the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Korea Defense Service Medal. Dr. Axelrod is dedicated to treating patients with respect and compassion. He knows that a visit to the dentist can be overwhelming, so he always puts the needs of his patients first and foremost. Dr. Axelrod is a lifelong student of dentistry and participates in continuing education courses to keep his skills current and innovative. As he is no stranger to being a dental patient himself, Dr. Axelrod treats his patients as he would want to be treated. Dr. Axelrod is married to the love of his life, Victoria. They enjoy hiking, skiing, and being in the beautiful Colorado outdoors together. In his free time, Dr. Axelrod plays guitar and practices yoga.
Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?
I truly want what is best for my patients and hope to see them for decades to come. Although Colorado only requires 30 hours of Continuing Education per year, I average well over 100 hours each year. This way, I am up to date on the latest evidence and best procedures in dentistry. Lastly, my patients can rest assured that I will only recommend treatment that is necessary.
What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?
Dental implants, wisdom teeth, and root canals.
What are you proud of in your practice?
We are a caring, honest, and ethical dental office. I started my career as a dental officer in the US Army and Dr. Parver started her career at a community health center in rural Texas. We hold true to the values that we learned in those formative years of practicing in a public health setting. Namely, providing gentle, compassionate care and only doing that which is in the best interest of the patient and not recommending unwarranted, excessive treatment.
Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?
I enjoy all facets of dentistry. The most rewarding experiences in my career are when I can relieve someone of their pain or restore a smile in need of repair. These treatments mean that both patient and dentist can reflect on a job well-done with tangible, measurable results. Helping a patient return to comfortable normalcy, or rebuilding a smile that has been missing for hours or even decades, means that I am making a difference in the life of my patients.

Reviewed on March 2nd, 2021 • Verified patientThey were so kind and personable. I felt so comfortable with everyone there. They really eased the anxiety that always comes with going to the dentist and I felt really good about the entire experience. They even waived an additional x-ray that I had to get for some wisdom teeth stuff, since insurance wouldn't cover both x-rays I got! Just, super stellar and educated people. They never shamed me for not flossing or anything like that. Instead, they came toward it with a sense of empathy and concern. 10/10 service.Was this review helpful?{{ reviews[108087].errors[0] }}

Reviewed on August 5th, 2020 • Verified patientFYI, the building is a bit old and run down, but the office itself is very clean and offers water to clients. I had hoped to meet with David's wife (the other practicing Dr. here) as I tend to feel a bit more comfortable with female care providers but she went on maternity leave just a few weeks prior. Luckily, my hygienist Carly was very kind and very thorough with my x-rays and cleaning, making me feel comfortable. After meeting David, there were no longer any worries-- much more down to earth than many men in his profession. David was very genuine, seemed interested in me and my life and even mentioned a few things about my teeth no other dentist has noticed. The ladies working the front desk were extremely attentive, informative and nice.Was this review helpful?{{ reviews[105774].errors[0] }}
