Dr. T. Daniel Lawen

Dr. Lawen pursued dentistry at a young age, due to some influential people close to him. While attending Dalhousie University, he excelled in his education. First, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and graduating with distinction. In 2003, he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and graduated fourth in his class. He participated in the dental implant elective and received the Periodontology and Dental Biomaterials awards. Dr. Lawen completed his general practice residency in London, Ontario, where he focused on oral surgery, gaining valuable experience in the removal of wisdom teeth. He then became an associate dentist at the Cosmo Dental Center in London. He has been at Baird Lawen Dentistry since returning back to Halifax. Dr. Lawen strives for excellence in dentistry and delivering exceptional dental care for his patients. He practices all aspects of general dentistry with particular interest in Cosmetic Dentistry, Implantology, and Invisalign Orthodontics. He has been treating patients with Invisalign since 2006; straightening teeth without metal braces. He continuously engages in dental lectures and hands-on courses in the latest dental advances. He has completed several courses in Seattle, Washington at The Kois Center, known for advancing dentistry through excellence, and similar ones at the Dawson Academy. He has completed dental implant courses at the Misch International Implant Institute, and at The Hands on Institute for Dental Implants given by Dr. Hebel. Dr.Lawen practiced in Oral plastic surgery courses given by Dr. Edward Allan of Dallas, Texas at The Center for Advanced Dental Education; focusing on Alloderm grafting (gum grafting). He is an active member of the Atlantic Implant Study Club, The Canadian Dental Association, The Nova Scotia Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentists, The International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the Halifax County Dental Society. Dr. Daniel Lawen was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Outside of his dental practice, Dr. Lawen follows an active lifestyle of traveling, biking, basketball, and a variety of sports. Most recently, he completed the P90X program. He values the importance of family and enjoys spending time with them, particularly his nieces and nephews.
