What makes your practice special when compared with others in the area?

Our practice specializes in non-surgical and surgical treatment of gum disease, cosmetic procedures to esthetically enhance your smile, dental implants that can replace single or multiple missing teeth, and the diagnosis and treatment of oral pathology. We also specialize in listening. That is, we strive to earn the trust and respect of our patients by listening to their specific needs and problems. What are you and your team proud of at your practice?

Dr. Gouldin and Dr. Carlos are periodontists, that is, dentists who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal (gum) disease, as well as the treatment planning, placement, and maintenance of dental implants. Periodontists receive extensive training, including three additional years of education beyond dental school. Our office is in downtown Falls Church, and we have had the pleasure of serving Northern Virginia since 1995. Both Dr. Gouldin and Dr. Carlos are Diplomates of the American Board of Periodontology. They are periodontists who have made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty. In short, having a Diplomate as a periodontist ensures that you are seeing a professional who has taken the time and effort to prove, before a panel of internationally respected peers, that he is competent enough to hold the specialty's highest status. Dr. Gouldin became a Diplomate on November 20, 2000, and Dr. Carlos became a Diplomate on May 11, 2012.
