Dr. James Brian Stephens

I have been going to Stephens Dentistry for nearly 20 years, and the practice is wonderful. The staff has always been pleasant. Both Dr. Jim and Bob Stephens are friendly, welcoming, skllled, and knowledgeable. Their hygienists are caring and fun. I usually go to Dr. Jim and Kayla. Kayla does a wonderful job cleaning my teeth! Kayla does such great work that you do not need to whiten your teeth. Both Dr. Jim and Kayla answer questions thoroughly and truly seem to care about their patients. Dr. Jim saved my tooth which had cracked in half without having to replace it! I will always be grateful for the excellent service that Stephens Dentistry provides.

Brilliant work. Before Stephens, I'd had bad experiences with dentists - including some particularly bad work that needed to be fixed. Dr. Jim not only triaged quickly and professionally, he built trust through explanation and care. There aren't many people in any profession as dedicated to getting it right. I'm moving out of state soon, and will still likely come back here for care!

Do to several moves, changes in insurance coverage, and fluctuations in my dental needs I've had many dentists over the years. I can say with confidence that Stephens Dentistry is the best I've experienced. Everything other reviewers mentioned about friendly staff, welcoming surroundings, etc. is true--but what really makes Stephens stand out is the sheer talent and technical skill of the dentists. Every crown I've had done by Dr. Jim instantly feels like it's been in my mouth since I lost my baby teeth, and he's also saved some teeth that a prior dentist wanted to remove. I also experience less discomfort, as they are just plain good at what they do, so they do it quickly and efficiently. They also seem to have the latest in tools and technology, which probably contributes to the quality of their results. I dunno. Whatever they are doing, it works, and I hope they keep it up. I will never be thrilled about going to the dentist, but when I need to go, this is the place--hands down.

Great Dental Practice. They pay great attention to detail. Everybody is very friendly and competent. They explain everything excellently. I highly recommend them.

I've been going to Stephens dentistry for almost 10 years. They are as good as it gets. My five-year-old loves going to the dentist, too. We walked out of our last appointment and he said, "This was the best day ever." I mean, how can I not love them? We live about an hour away now (we used to live in Evanston but moved), but I feel like that it's still worth it to make the drive for them. Dr. Bob and Dr. Jim are both excellent. I like that they are cautious with their recommendations. They are not aggressive and pushy about their services. They will monitor when their might be a problem and not "drill" immediately. I don't want to share my medical history, but I appreciate that they are thoughtful and deliberate about how to proceed. I really like going to the dentist and I don't think a lot of people can say that!

I love Stephens Dentistry. Everyone is really pleasant and enthusiastic in caring for my teeth. I have never had such a thorough and informative initial evaluation. And I love how they explain everything. Dr. Jim and Lauren are amazing. I would give them 10 stars if this form allowed!
