Dr. Simona Katona

Dr. Simona Katona attended the International Dentist Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Following dental school, Dr. Katona spent four years training in the post-graduate periodontics program at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) where she served as Chief Resident and was awarded a Specialty Certification in Periodontics. Dr. Katona has obtained the highest recognition for a specialist in the field of Periodontology by becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a distinction held by less than one-third of all practicing Periodontists. She is a Board Certified Periodontist and is currently involved in the following dental organizations: American Academy of Periodontology , Chicago Dental Society, International Academy of Ceramic Implanvology. Dr Katona continues to teach as adjunct lecturer in the Department of Periodontics at UIC. Dr. Katona keeps up with the latest advances in periodontology and dental implant therapy by attending the annual congress of the American Academy of Periodontology and continuing education trainings with the world top experts in the field. Dr Katona enjoys treating all aspects of periodontal disease, periodontal plastic surgery, hard and soft tissue regeneration, and implant dentistry. She is committed to provide excellent patient care and strives to achieve an optimum oral health and well being for her patients.
