Dr. Larisa Spirtovic began her collegiate education at Loyola University in Chicago where she received Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences in Biology. She earned Bachelor of Science in Dentistry and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees at University of Illinois at Chicago. Upon graduation Dr. Spirtovic was awarded the Dr. Gerson Gould and Mr. Sol Gould Memorial Scholarship that is awarded to the top student that embodies the standards of clinical excellence and who exemplifies professional growth in managerial skills and outstanding performance in four-handed dentistry. She was also awarded with the Pierre Fauchard Academy Scholarship Award, which recognizes a top student with dedication and commitment to dentistry who has demonstrated leadership, academic and clinical excellence. During her time at UIC College of Dentistry, Dr. Spirtovic was also a course instructor for other dental students. She also participated in a highly selective pilot program with a goal of implementing a new arrangement of extramural experiences for fourth year dental students. During the extramural rotations she spent time working with children at the Infant Welfare Society of Oak Park and Erie Health Clinic and Union Health clinics in Chicago. Dr. Spirtovic is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Chicago Dental Society and Dental Arts Club. She fluently speaks Bosnian, Croatian, Czech, Serbian and Slovak languages.
