Dr. Schwarz grew up in Deerfield, Illinois, the oldest of five children. Dr. Schwarz went to the University of Iowa where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 1988. After practicing dental hygiene for two years, Dr. Schwarz decided to return to the University of Iowa and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1994.
