My four month daughter had a fever about 38.6 for four days until the temp raised to over 39 and she wasn't drinking milk she was already an eczema baby Cough and cold that wasnt getting better Took her to Brampton civic hospital. Which was the worst thing I did. Went there around midnight Got seen by doc at 9AM. Wow. What a short wait eh. .? Doc comes in for about 2 mins. Looks at her. Told to give her tempra every four hours and advil every six. Told him that's what I been doing for the past couple of days. He said continue it. Didn't check her ears or her nose. And said she was discharged come back if it gets worse. So can things get worse then this. This is ridiculious. So. Come back her fever was still high. She wasn't drinking or wetting diapers. Took her to trillium hospital urgent care. Guys this is the best place to go if u r sick. Took her in immediately. Did blood and urine work. Got transferred to sister site For admission and a pediatric was there to explain what was going on. What they were going to do. Said she had some infection in the nose and put her on iv. Before the next day she was getting back to her drinking habits and was wetting diapers and so on. Her temperature was coming down. She stayed there four days I was glad we decided to go to trillium and if it was Brampton civic that we went back to I'm pretty sure they would have let her die before thinking of treating her. So people out there learn ur lesson. Do not go to brampton civic if u want to live
The Security guards at this hospital were the only people at this hospital that were kind and willing to help me and my family. It's pretty ridiculous when Security Guards are showing more care then patient's.
So I heard a lot of horrible thing about Brampton Hospital and now I got to experience it first hand. My dad came to the emerg Thursday 2pm and is still in emerg today Saturday morning 8:56am. I'm writing this as I sit in the emerg with him. This Hospital has no beds available! Doctors won't see my dad until he's given a bed on the doctors floor! The nurses are the most nastiest human brings. They come with a sour attitude and don't have a clue about ANYTHING!!! They totally need to shut down this Hospital cause it's worthless! I wouldn't recommend this hospital to a person that's drying!! Not a single nurse came to check up on my dad alll night! Thank god I stayed with him. PLEASE don't come to this hospital if you don't need to. Drive 10-15 mins further if you can.
IF YOU HAVE KIDS CARRY THEM TO SICK KIDS OR FOR EVERYONE ESLE GO TO GEORGE TOWN HOSPITAL... BRAMPTON WILL HAVE YOU WAIT UNTIL YOU DIE! EVEN IF YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON IN THE WAITING ROOM! I'VE HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE EVERY TIME I GO THERE. IMAGINE A PREGNANT WOMAN WAITING FOR AN ULTRA SOUND AND HOLDING HER PEE FOR 5 HOURS? THEY LOST MY REGISTRATION CARD, SO I HAD TO WAIT LONGER... MY KID HAD A FEVER AND THEY SAID THE SHE DIDN'T, SO I CARRIED HER SOME WHERE ELSE AND SHE DID! SHE COULDN'T BREATH AND SHE WAITED TEN HOURS JUST FOR A NURSE TO SEE HER! HOW STUPID IS THAT!
When is a kidney stone not a kidney stone? When it's misdiagnosed at Brampton Civic Hospital. Not only do they make you wait 5 hours in an exam room overnight without anyone checking on you while in severe pain (nor the other patients worse off than I was, including an infant) while the nurses gab around their station for hours and have just one emergency doctor on staff overnight who was working on another case somewhere else in the hospital, they make the wrong diagnosis with the 10-second doctor visit, throw some pain pills at you, and don't take a CAT Scan at that time to make sure (instead of needing to schedule 6 weeks later via outpatient, because Ontarians apparently can't get one without a blood test ahead of time, which only adds more delays). This was proved today after I visited Moncton (NB) Hospital's emergency dept using my OHIP card. I was in and out in 4 hours with the much better and real story, including an extremely fast turnaround for the CT Scan. Take my advice: head to Sunnybrook or Toronto General if you live in Brampton for anything more than a splinter. I wish I could give 0 stars for the staff and service; it is hard to screw up a reasonably new facility, so I have to give 4 there.
