Mina Kavia is a registered physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapy of British Columbia and a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association MCPA). She holds a Postgraduate Masters in Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy (MPThy) from the University of Queensland, Australia. She also has a B.Sc. in Anatomy and a B.Sc. in Physiotherapy from the University of Saskatchewan.Mina is a member of the International Federation of Manipulative Therapists. In 1995 she completed her degree in acupuncture at the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nanjing, China. She is a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac) with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of British Columbia.
 Mina is also a licensed Intramuscular Stimulation Practitioner (CGIMS) trained by Dr. Chan Gunn. She currently assists at the Institute for the Study and Treatment of Pain (iSTOP) teaching IMS courses to physicians and physiotherapists. Mina has worked in private practice for 20 years. Her experience ranges from a sports medicine centre in Calgary to owning her own clinic in Vancouver (seva physiotherapy kitsilano).

She has treated a variety of athletes including Olympians, for a wide range of orthopedic injuries. Her experience also includes working with dental practitioners treating Temporomandibular (TMJ) conditions In 1993 she volunteered as, the physiotherapist for a young head-injured man who cycled across Canada and the United States to raise awareness about head injuries and disabilities. In both 1994 and 2002 Mina spent periods volunteering as a physiotherapist in Madras and Dharamsala for the under-serviced populations of Indian and Tibetan refugees.

Between 2000 and 2002 she also volunteered with the Alberta Ballet in Calgary.

Mina enjoys rock climbing, skiing and running.

Mina is also a mom of two little angels aged five and one, thus the interest in pregnancy and induction using acupuncture. She now lives and works in Squamish from her home practice and has also joined Elaho medical clinic
